Doonby is a feature film starring John Schneider (Dukes of Hazard, Smallville), Jenn Gotzon (Frost/Nixon), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) and Robert Davi (Die Hard, Goonies). I play a supporting role as “Lisa” with Tom Lagleder as my on screen husband.

I am thrilled to be a part of the feature film “Enemy of the Mind” by actor and director Manny Rey and Director of Photography Brandon Stephens. Here is a link to the amazing cast that surrounds this film.

Below is the feature film trailer.  More soon as details progress!

Marfa, Texas… sigh~  What an amazing place to visit and an even more amazing place to shoot a film.  While shooting, my inner photographer was rekindled (what Id originally wanted to be out of grade school).  Armed with an iPhone I could hide in my boot, the Hipstamatic App and being on set at all times, I was able to capture the essence of the amazing characters involved in this project.

Marfa is welcoming, indeedy

I was welcomed in Marfa with the cutest casita.

Biking is a way of life.. good thing!

A down-on-his-luck music producer stumbles upon a lost work of art that could change everything. But to win, he must surrender his notions of success and embrace the mystery and absurdity of life.

My latest project is shooting in a place Ive longed to spend time in since I moved to Texas 5 short years ago.  FAR MARFA, which shoots in, well, Marfa, TX stars Johnny Sneed as CARTER and myself as QUARRY.  Jesse Bernstein, also with my agency (The Atherton Group), will play a supporting role as DAVID (pronounced “Da-veed”).

There will definitely be more info to come as I continue on this journey.  Aside from dynamic filmmaking, I have a feeling there will be plenty of great conversation, biking around town and hopefully a bonfire or two in the desert!

Sam Doonby, is a happy-go-lucky drifter who takes up residence in a small Texas town but seems suspiciously immune to the misfortunes that beset the other townsfolk.

John Schneider, star of Doonby, talks about the film and his role on FOX News yesterday.  I played supporting role as “Lisa” in the feature.  Needless to say, this interview sparks my excitement for the film to be released!  (Im hoping mid-fall…?)

The link to the seven minute interview with John is here.  (The preview footage is at the beginning)

Film: Doonby
Location: Smithville, TX

Synopsis: Sam Doonby, is a happy-go-lucky drifter who takes up residence in a small Texas town but seems suspiciously immune to the misfortunes that beset the other townsfolk.

I have a supporting role in a feature film called Doonby, shooting this month.  The film was written and is being directed by Peter Mackenzie. The cast is an amazing group of actors - John SchneiderRobert DaviWill WallaceJenn GotzonJoe Estevez and, of course, many others talents!

Here is a photo from our last “crowded bar scene” and Ernie Hudson’s last day on set.

We often hung out at the Katy House, run by Sallie and Bruce, the most generous couple one could hope to find wandering on location.  Sallie hosted the principal cast at the house so we didnt need to wait in trailers or tents the whole day.  It was good to have a ‘home front’ to camp out for most of the day.  Thanks again, Sallie and Bruce!

In the film, I play a swinger who is intrigued with Sam Doonby’s charisma as well as integrity.  Below is myself and my on-screen hubby, Tom Lagleder in full costume.

Sallie always gets pictures with the cast of films that come through her house.  This is our token “fireplace mantel” shot with her :)

I found out at the end of the day why people were asking Scotti (below) for guitar picks while we chat.  He is co-guitarist for Skid Row (and an awesome dude as well!)

After the bar scene wrap, there was a small afterparty at the Tamble’s House, the location where I’ll shoot my next scenes May 31, June 1.  Im ready to go back to Smithville and see everyone again!

Look for the film early 2011!
